We are often asked if Smoothline cover plates can be painted. The answer is yes -- with some care. Give the face of the wall plate a light sanding with a fine wet/dry paper to remove the gloss. Then make sure the parts are clean. Then spray the parts with a quality primer and paint such as Krylon, following the paint manufacturer's recommendations.
With care, the result is a outlet cover that matches the outlet or wall. Visit DesignMod.com for more information on Smoothline wall plates.

Coming this fall, the Smoothline flush-mount outlet cover for wood installations
We are going through UL certification on our new Smoothline flush-mount wall plate system for wood. This will be a great addition to the line. Ideal for installation on wood walls and in custom cabinetry, the system will allow outlets, switches and any item that utilizes a decorator shape insert to be mounted flush with the wood surface.
The wood is cut out for the junction box. Then using a template that will be available from DesignMod, the wood is routed out to make room for a flange. The junction box is then inserted, the Smoothline wood flange is inserted, and the outlet, switch or accessory connection is inserted. Then the final Smoothline flush outlet cover is snapped in place.
Here's a sneak peak at the system.
